Free! Introduction to Machine Quilting:

The Quilted Rose offers a FREE Saturday class from 10am-12pm. This class will give you the opportunity to sew on each of the different models of Gammill Quilting Machines. This is the perfect opportunity to get all of your questions answered and to find the machine you are most comfortable with.

This FREE introduction class consists of pinning a quilt on the machine and quilting from the front and back of the machine. The Quilted Rose will furnish the quilt top for you to quilt on.. We will donate all the quilts from this class to "Camp Reach for the Sky" for cancer kids.

Wednesday, September 27th

Time Management & Fearless Beginning to Longarm Quilting

Pam's class will consist of a 3 hour lecture on Time Management and a 4 hour workshop on Fearless Beginnings to Longarm Quilting. The lecture will discuss shop organization, lead generation, scheduling, preparation, community exposure, delegation and basic day to day routine operations. Gain several hours per week by learning how to get the most out of your quilting time.

After the lunch break Pam will help you to discover the secrets to smooth quilting and basic quilt designs all from the front of the machine. This class is designed to save time and gain confidence. This demo will cover how to mark a quilt top, several background stitches, and the seven basic quilt patterns to create unlimited quilt designs. You will be amazed how easy it is to do feathers, hearts, leaves, waves, etc. A workbook packed full of ideas and practice ideas will be be provided in class along with several samples and demonstrations using the quilting machine.

Thursday, September 28th

Designs with Lines

This workshop is designed to help speed up the process of Longarm Quilting. Pam Clarke will share her convient, proven and helpful methods of creating outstanding designs. The workshop will begin with sketching in a workbook provided by Pam. Follow along as she draws these designs using an overhead projector. Then watch as she demos using the Longarm and shows your how to mark and stitch these designs. Bring to class a lapboard, colored pencils or pens, eraser, and a small pencil sharpener.


Friday, September 29th

Designs from Simple Shapes and Blocks and Quilting Designs

Discover how to modify and combine the piecing of the block when you add a line or fill in a space, then combine two or three more shapes and see what happens. Follow along with a workbook provided by Pam, as she guides you step by step in how to design around the piecing of the block. Come to class with a lapboard and colored pencils or pens.

 

Saturday, Sept 30th

Background Frenzy Sampler - 9 am to 1 pm

Are you in a stipple rut? Join Pam as she shares with you her 25 favorite background designs. Using the sample provided in class along wtih a workbook draw/stitch along with Pam as she guides you in making a stained glass looking wall quilt of all of these great background fillers. Swirls, leaves, loops, stars, waves, ivy, herky jerkey, echo, paisley, etc. along with several samples will be available along with hints on when and where to use. This class is designed for all levels of quilters. Thread clippers required for class.

Quilt Comparison - 1:30 to 5:00 pm

Discover how one pieced or appliqued quilt, quilted 4 different ways will look. Pam will have available for you to judge how the quilting will look and discuss: Flying Geese, Feathered Star, Hickory Leaf, Single Irish Chain. Using power point, see the detailed quilting. All over designs, custom quilting, background quilting, and block quilting will be the topic of discussion along with thread and batting choices.

All Four Classes are from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm with a break for lunch
(bring your own lunch or go out to eat)
Class fee for each class is $175.00
